Mawamba Lodge laat je het regenwoud ervaren vanuit het comfort van een mooie lodge waar je naast het verkennen van de natuur ook genoeg tijd hebt om te relaxen en te genieten van het nabijgelegen strand. Mawamba Lodge ligt ongeveer 1 km ten noorden van het dorp Tortuguero en direct aan de rand van het Parque Nacional Tortuguero in het noordoosten van Costa Rica. De enige manier om Tortuguero te bereiken is per boot of vliegtuig. De gebruikelijke route naar Tortuguero is met de auto of bus vanuit San Jos\u00e9 via de moderne snelweg nr. 32 helemaal tot aan Siquirres, gevolgd door ongeveer 25 km onverharde wegen langs weilanden en bananenplantages tot aan de aanlegsteiger van La Pavona, vanwaar de boot het laatste uur tot 1,5 uur naar Tortuguero vaart. standaardkamers en 4 ruimere superior kamers die aangenaam zijn ingericht en ge\u00efntegreerd in de tropische tuinen. Alle kamers hebben een eigen badkamer met warm water, een plafondventilator en een kleine veranda met relaxstoelen. Er is een verfrissend zwembad, een goed restaurant en een bar ernaast. Het grote terrein wordt begrensd door het Tortuguero kanaal aan de ene kant en het strand en de Caribische Zee aan de andere kant. voorkeur geeft aan goed overdekte, langzaam stromende beken en afgelegen waterwegen, en soms gedeeltelijk onder water zwemt, zoals een Anhinga. Sungrebes zijn uniek onder de vogels omdat de mannetjes &#8220;buidels&#8221; hebben, huidplooien onder hun vleugels waarin ze hun jongen dragen vanaf het uitkomen tot de kuikens zelf kunnen zwemmen. <\/li><li><strong>Green-and-rufous Kingfisher: <\/strong>dit is de moeilijkste soort van alle 6 soorten neotropische ijsvogels.
